Privacy Policy
Last updated October 7, 2026
The short version. The Transcension Matrix app runs on your own computer. Your save files never leave it. We do not sell data, show ads, use cookies or run analytics. A few optional features talk to our online services, and this page lists exactly what each one sends, how long we keep it and how to have it deleted.
Who we are
Transcension Matrix is an independent project that makes a companion app, a companion mod and online services for ARK: Survival Ascended. In this policy "we" and "us" mean the Transcension Matrix project. You can reach us at contact@transcensionmatrix.com.
The app on your computer
The desktop app opens your saves, tribe files and profiles on your own computer and shows them in your browser through a connection that never leaves your machine. It does not upload save files, and it has no telemetry, analytics or automatic crash reporting.
It keeps its settings beside the program: window layout, recent files, folders you chose, mod ids and a log file. These stay on your computer. The only things the app sends over the internet are the two optional features below, and only when you use them.
Mod details from CurseForge
To show the names, pictures and update status of the mods your server uses, the app sends the mod ids and installed file versions to our CurseForge service, along with a random install id. The install id is created once on your computer and is not linked to you or any account. Our service passes only the mod ids to CurseForge, and stores nothing. Your IP address and install id are used briefly to limit how fast requests can be made.
Mod pictures load directly from CurseForge's image servers, so CurseForge can see your IP address when they load. You can turn mod details off in the app's settings, which stops all of these requests.
Problem reports
Nothing is sent unless you press the send button, and you see the full report and can edit it first. A report contains:
- the text you write, and contact details if you choose to add them
- the app's version and build, your operating system and the app's current status
- the kind, name, size and map of the file you have open, and the last error, if any
- the last 120 lines of the app's log, with your Windows user name and home folder removed
Cloudflare adds your approximate country and city. The report is delivered to us through a private Discord channel and by email through our email provider, Resend. Your IP address is held for at most two hours to stop the report form from being flooded, and is then deleted. We keep reports as long as we need them to fix the problem.
Accounts
Some features need an account. You sign in with Discord or Twitch, and we receive only your user id and display name from them. We do not receive your email address, your avatar or your Discord or Twitch password, and we do not keep the access token they give us after sign-in.
With an account we store the game servers you register and their names, the admins you add to them, and your plan. Sign-in sessions and server keys are stored only in a scrambled form that cannot be turned back into the original. A sign-in session stops working 30 days after you last used it.
Payments
If we offer paid features, payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. You enter your payment details and email address on Lemon Squeezy's own checkout, under its own privacy policy. We send Lemon Squeezy your account id so a purchase is linked to the right account, and we receive back the order and subscription status, plan, dates and Lemon Squeezy's customer and order numbers. We never receive your card number or billing address.
The companion mod and live features
A server owner can install our companion mod and connect their server to our relay. This lets the server owner and their admins see the server live in the app and send admin commands. When a server is connected:
- game events pass through the relay, which can include player and tribe names, in-game ids, positions and health
- these events are held for 60 seconds so a reconnecting app can catch up, and are then deleted
- admin commands are recorded in an audit log with who sent them, when, the result and the reason given. The log keeps a fingerprint of each command's details rather than the details themselves
- if the server owner sets up Discord notifications, events such as deaths, with player names, tribe ids, creature types and levels, are posted to the Discord channel the owner chose
- live player features are refused on official servers
For this data the server owner decides what is collected and how it is used, and we process it on their behalf. If you play on a connected server and have a question about your data, ask the server owner first. You can also contact us directly.
Services we use
| Service | What it does for us |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosts this website and all of our online services, and adds the approximate location to problem reports |
| Discord | Sign-in, problem report delivery, and server notifications the server owner sets up |
| Twitch | Sign-in |
| Lemon Squeezy | Payments, as merchant of record |
| Resend | Delivers problem reports to us by email |
| CurseForge | Mod names, pictures and update status |
Each of these services handles data under its own privacy policy. Some of them process data outside your country, including in the United States.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent personal data, or share it for advertising.
- We do not set cookies for tracking or advertising, and we use no tracking of any kind. The app stores its layout settings in your own browser on your own computer.
- We do not run analytics.
How long we keep data
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Sign-in steps in progress | 10 minutes at most, deleted when used |
| Sign-in sessions | Stop working 30 days after last use. The scrambled record is kept until you sign out or delete your account |
| Your account, servers, admins and plan history | Until you delete your account |
| Live game events in the relay | 60 seconds |
| Admin audit log | The period the server owner sets, from 7 days to 10 years. If none is set, until it is deleted at the server owner's request |
| IP addresses used to limit request rates | Two hours at most |
| Problem reports | As long as we need them to fix the problem |
Your choices and rights
- Download your data. Signed-in users can download everything their account holds, or email us for a copy.
- Delete your account. Deleting your account cancels any subscription first and then removes your account and the servers you own. Relay data for those servers, such as the audit log and Discord notification settings, is deleted when you ask us by email.
- Turn features off. Mod details can be switched off in the app, and problem reports are only ever sent by you.
- Anything else. To have data from Discord, Twitch or the relay deleted or corrected, or for any other request, email contact@transcensionmatrix.com. We answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your personal data, to receive it in a portable form, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Email us to use any of these rights.
Children
Our services are not meant for children. ARK: Survival Ascended is rated T by the ESRB and 16 by PEGI. You must be at least 13 to create an account, or older where the law in your country requires. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes we will also give notice in the app or on this website before they take effect.
