Terms of Service

These terms cover the Transcension Matrix desktop app, the companion mod, this website and our online services, together called "the service". By using the service you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old, or older where the law in your country requires, to create an account. If you use the service for a group, such as a server community, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

2. In development

The service is under active development. Features may change, be limited or be removed, and some are offered as previews. We will try to give notice before removing anything you rely on.

3. Your saves and your data

You keep all rights to your saves, files and data. The app is designed to work on copies and to check every file it writes, but software can fail and game updates can change file formats. Always keep your own backups before editing, repairing or uploading a save. You are responsible for the files you change and for what you do with them, including uploading them to a server.

4. Server owners

If you connect a game server to the service or edit a server's saves, you confirm that you own or administer that server and are allowed to do so. You are responsible for following your host's rules and the game's rules, for telling your players what the companion mod collects, and for the settings you choose, such as Discord notifications and audit log retention. You may not use the service to act on servers you do not control, and the live player features may not be used on official servers.

5. Accounts

You sign in with Discord or Twitch and are responsible for activity under your account. Keep your server keys private and tell us if you think one has been exposed. You can delete your account at any time.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service to cheat in multiplayer games where that is against the rules, or to harass, threaten or harm other players
• attack, overload, probe or try to get around the limits or security of our services
• use the service against servers, accounts or data you are not allowed to access
• use the service for anything unlawful, or send us content that is unlawful or that you have no right to share

We may limit or suspend access to protect the service, its users or other players.

7. Paid features

If we offer paid features, they are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record and handles payment, tax, invoices and refunds under its own terms. Prices and what each plan includes are shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew until you cancel, and cancelling stops the next renewal.

8. Third-party services and games

The service works with products we do not control, including ARK: Survival Ascended, Discord, Twitch, CurseForge and your server host. Your use of them is governed by their own terms. A game update or a change by any of them can stop parts of the service from working until we update it.

Transcension Matrix is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Studio Wildcard or Snail Games. ARK: Survival Ascended and related names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to describe what the service works with.

9. Our rights

The app, the mod, our services and this website, apart from content that belongs to you or to third parties, belong to the Transcension Matrix project. We give you a personal, revocable license to use them as these terms allow. Feedback and suggestions you send us may be used to improve the service without owing you anything for them.

10. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted, error free or fit for a particular purpose, or that it will never damage or lose data.

11. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost saves, lost game progress, lost profits or any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it, or 50 US dollars if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, and in those places they apply only as far as the law permits.

12. Ending use

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms, or stop offering the service with reasonable notice. Sections 3, 9, 10 and 11 continue after use ends.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will give notice in the app or on this website before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute that is not settled informally will be decided in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction. If you live in a country whose law gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts or under your local consumer law, these terms do not take that right away.
